Tāwharau Lane is a multi-warehouse development by Goodman Property Trust in Highbrook Business Park. It’s the first industrial project in Aotearoa to achieve a 6 Green Star Built rating—recognised for its outstanding sustainability and resource-efficiency .
Named by mana whenua Ngāi Tai ki Tāmaki, Tāwharau means “to shelter or take refuge,” inspired by Tai a Te Wharau—a historic stopping point on the Tāmaki River trading route
The development includes three new standalone industrial buildings over 8,315 m²—purpose-built tenancies now leased by pH7, Garmin, and Chemist Warehouse
Designed by JWA Architects, the precast concrete buildings feature low-carbon design strategies focused on reducing embodied carbon across the project
Concrete highlights:
-
Low-carbon precast panels built with New Zealand’s lowest embodied-carbon rebar (from Nauhria Reinforcing), finished by Monarc using a ‘Grated’ vertical texture that highlights local aggregates .
-
These panels demonstrate a world-class commitment to sustainable construction and form key evidence of Goodman’s dedication to a low-carbon future
